I'm in Montreal, and I just walked through what I estimate was a 1.5 foot deep puddle. By the time I realized I was in it, it was too late to turn back. I just had to keep going and did not realize it was about 6 steps' worth of wading.
Also - I only brought one pair of shoes with me.
I like going new places but surprise puddles are the worst.
